drOne - UX
WHAT DOES drOne DO?
drOne i s designed to respond to an acute medical emergency and deliver life-saving equipment and life-saving medicines such as an defibrillator, epipen or inhaler to the event site. The drone is guided by GPS and is fitted with HD, Infrared and thermal cameras to facilitate night rescue. Additional features include: microphone and video screen for communication with emergency physician.
drOne i s activated in response to a dispatch request from a mobile app. It will dispatch to the precise location of the mobile device, a single drone pre-packed with “tele-medical” packages containing life-saving equipment and/or medication.
drOne will be integrated into the existing 911 emergency response architecture. A 911 emergency service operator can be contacted via the app to direct the victim and/or bystander to instructions on how to administer the medication and equipment including the option to activate a video screen with a greeting from a doctor “I am an emergency care doctor and I am here to help”. If the user has pre-registered their condition on the app, dispatch will be automatic. If it is a new emergency, 911 will authorise the dispatch of drOne. Delivery time is anticipated as less than two minutes as every town and village will have a pre-packed drone sitting on a flat roof awaiting callout.
Drone design has come on leaps and bounds with technological advances. Today, these drones have impressive lift and distance capability. drOne would be introduced in Ireland in conjunction with measures to increase public awareness, expanded CPR and AED (defibrillator) training.
